邦諾書店表示，該公司網站上數位書籍的銷售量，目前已超過傳統實體書本在網站上的銷售量。

Barnes Noble Inc said that sales of digital books made through its website now exceed those of traditional books that it sells online.

邦諾書店前年推出他們的電子書閱讀器Nook，與亞馬遜推出的Kindle競爭。邦諾表示，光是耶誕節，顧客透過Nook購買或是下載的電子書就超過1百萬本。

Barnes Noble, which introduced its Nook electronic reader last year to compete with Amazon.com Incs Kindle, said customers bought or downloaded 1 million e-books via the Nook on Christmas Day.

邦諾一位發言人表示，上述數據包括邦諾提供的免費下載電子書在內，但絕大多數都還是付費下載。

A spokeswoman for Barnes Noble said that figure included free e-books, but that most were paid downloads.

邦諾去年夏天曾提出公司合併收購，目前面臨迫切壓力，需要展現其電子書市場的正快速成長，以此緩和業界存在已久的書籍銷售低迷現象。邦諾書店表示，在電子書的市佔率中，該公司佔了20％。

Barnes Noble, which put itself up for sale last summer, is under pressure to show that its share of the e-books market is growing fast enough to mitigate （1） a longstanding （2） industry-wide （3） decline in book sales. Barnes Noble says it has a 20 percent share of the e-books market.

這個美國最大的書籍零售商也表示，各種版本的Nook電子閱讀器是該公司最熱銷的商品。此言回應了日前亞馬遜所發出的聲明，它們指出最新版本的Kindle是該公司有史以來最暢銷的商品。

The top U.S. bookseller also said the various versions of the Nook devices were now its best-selling （4） product, echoing claims earlier this week by Amazon that the most recent version of the Kindle was its bestselling item ever.

但上述兩家公司都未洩露實際的銷售數字。在單一類別中，電子書產品的銷售量是設備本身和閱讀內容本身分開計算，例如單一冊的書本或是CD，而不是總體加總。

Both companies do not divulge exact sales figures. The sales numbers compare the devices to items within a category, such as individual books or CDs, rather than any category as a whole.

分析師預估，邦諾在推出Nook之後，已經銷售了大約2百萬台；而2007年推出的亞馬遜Kindle被認為銷售量約為6百萬台。

Analysts estimate that Barnes Noble has sold about 2 million Nooks since the devices launch, while the Kindle, launched in 2007, is thought to have sold about 6 million devices.

邦諾大多數的書籍販售都是透過全美各地717間邦諾書店。根據該公司最新一期季報，去年10月30日結束的第3季中，邦諾實體書店的銷售額是網路銷售額的5倍。

Barnes Noble makes most of its book sales at its 717 namesake （5） stores in the United States. In the quarter that ended on October 30, retail location sales were more than five times greater than on its website, according to its most recent quarterly report.
